The new 43,000 square foot, two-story Campus Center will serve as the front door and welcoming beacon for the North County Campus. The open floor plan design creates a light, vibrant, flexible and interactive environment for the staff, students, and the community. The main interior stair leads the students to the second floor ESL and Classrooms, Computer Lab, Dean’s offices, and Administrative office spaces. The lower floor houses the Cafeteria, Fine Arts Classroom, Public Safety Center, Assessment Center, Student Life & Leadership, Veterans Center, Health Center, and the Bookstore. The two story atrium in the middle of the open Computer Lab creates a striking central core element in the building. Incorporating student activity areas on both floors facilitates interaction and communication between the students and the staff. The combination of these program elements results in a dynamic and vibrant center for campus life. Construction on this structure is set to kick off in spring of 2016 with a completion date of fall 2017.
